Landscape architect and longtime resident Dennis Carmichael (FASLA, LEED AP) has made dozens of drawings of Hollin Hills houses and gardens over the past several decades, capturing the community’s distinctive architecture and the landscape it sits in.

Carmichael, a landscape architect of international renown, is also the author of the essential introduction to the landscaping of Hollin Hills, A Landscape of Democracy, and of the useful and important book, A House in the Woods: A Landscape Aesthetic for Hollin Hills.
